Dear ATLX registrant,
Welcome! We're excited to have you at this year's ATLX 7: Lucky No. Seven! Here are a few things you should know:
Pre-party at Atlanta Brewery Company:
Coming into town early? Already in town anyway? Come out on Thursday night to the Atlanta Brewery Company for our pre-party! ABC is located at 2323 Defoor Hills Rd NW, Atlanta GA 30318, and the pre-party will take place from 8:30-11:30. Admission is $10 for drinkers (beer included) and $7 for non-drinkers, and is not included in your ATLX admission. You can pick up registration materials beginning Thursday night at ABC. Registration materials will be available at all subsequent evening and late-night dances.
Saturday afternoon + barbecue: wear an ASEDA t-shirt
We're dancing outside, in the park – it's the best promotion for lindy hop there can possibly be! Wear an ASEDA (or ATLX) shirt and be a part of it all. Please note: while you don't need your admission bracelets for the dance at Grant Park, we will be using those bracelets for admission to the barbecue. Please make sure to wear your bracelets to all evening and late-night dances.
Saturday night: Dress to Impress!
We encourage you to dress to the nines for the Saturday main dance at Georgia Tech with Les Still and the Still Swingin' Orchestra. Hilary Mercer (of www.hilarymercer.com) will be there running a photo booth to capture your attire.
Housing:
If you have not received information about housing, please let our housing coordinator know by emailing Housing2010@atlx.org. Please rest assured that everyone who has registered for the full weekend pass has received housing. Attendees are responsible for getting in touch with their hosts prior to the event.
A la carte:
Online registration is now closed, but you (or your friends) can still purchase full passes and a la carte dance passes at the door. The at-the-door prices are as follows:
- Thursday 8:30-11:30pm Atlanta Brewing Company $10 (For Drinks) $7 (Non-Drinker)
- Friday 8:30pm-5:00am Emory Fellowship Hall $25 (all night long), $10 arriving after midnight
- Saturday 1:00pm-5:00pm Grant Park Free
- Saturday 4:00pm-6:00pm Grant Park Barbecue Full Passholder Only
- Saturday 8:30pm-12:00am Georgia Tech Ballroom $20
- "Saturday" 12:30-5:00am Golden Glide Skating Rink $15
- Sunday 1:00pm-5:00pm Piedmont Park Free
- Sunday 8:30pm-12:00pm Decatur Courthouse $15
- "Sunday" 12:30am-5:00am Several Dancers Core $10
Directions will be available before the event on the directions page.
Our registration chair would also like to remind you that passes are non-refundable but may be transferred between participants.
Rain venues:
In case of inclement weather, our afternoon dances may be moved to our rain location, listed below. This information will be available on the website and by email each day by 11:00 am. You may also call the “ATLX helpline” at 919.412.2423.
